Louise Honey

Louise Honey

Louise started at TAH in February 2002, as a Junior Nurse. Currently she is one of our Senior Nurses with a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Louise also acts as a mentor to our Junior Nurses and assists with their training and study.

Her ambition is to continue with further study, and gain a Diploma in Emergency and Critical Care Nursing. This area of nursing has always been a great interest to Louise along with patient care and clinical nursing.

Louise’s spare time is spent with her husband and 2 gorgeous daughters, 4 & 6, Charlie the Kelpie X, Gretle the Border Collie X , George the 8 year old Cat, Mish and little Mish the sheep, 4 chickens and numerous love birds.


Jess Hall

Jess Hall

Jess started working at TAH in January 2008 as a Nurse Assistant and is currently in the role of Hospital Supervisor. Prior to working here she was an apprentice Florist but has always had a passion for animals after growing up on a farm.

Jess is currently studying Certificate IV in Animal Studies after completing Certificate II last year and hopes to go on and study her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing. Her passions within the industry include being a patient advocate and sharing with owners the wonderful human animal bond.

In her spare time Jess enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She also enjoys taking her beautiful Blue Heeler, Buckley to the beach or for long walks on her Mum’s property in Campania.


Sophie McKay

Sophie McKayCertificate II in Animal Studies

Sophie has been a part of the TAH team since 2009, starting as a Nurse Assistant and now as a Veterinary Nurse. Sophie is currently studying for her Certificate II in Veterinary nursing and strongly believes in the welfare of animals and pets, and encourages the bond between them and their owners.

Sophie has a boisterous Labrador Retriever named Murphy. She is a strong advocate for patient rights and will hopefully someday be furthering her career in Animal Studies.


Keeley Rolph

Keeley RolphKeeley is one of our new Team Members, commencing as a Veterinary Nurse Assistant, previous position was within the Insurance Industry as a claims consultant.

Keely has always been interested in animal welfare and being a client of TAH for over 10 years couldn’t think of a better place to start her career in Veterinary Nursing.

Keeley is studying for her Certificate II and broadening her knowledge in clinical duties, surgery, anesthesia and consulting.

In Keeley’s spare time she enjoys looking after her Chihuahua Davis and spending time with family and friends.


Jacinta Hodge

Certificate II Animal Studies

Jacinta HodgeJacinta came to work for TAH in 2002as starting as a Nurse Assistant at Bellerive and has since worked her way up to Senior Nurse at our Sorell Practice, gaining her Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing along the way.

Jacinta recently took time off to have her beautiful daughter Addison who is now over 12 months old, which means spare time is a bit of a luxury at the moment.

Jacinta is the proud owner of Narla a 7 year old Border Collie Cross, one of 14 puppies abandoned outside TAH when only 4 days old. The nursing staff decided to hand raise these puppies and when time to find homes for them Jacinta couldn’t resist keeping one.


Ashley Clarke

Ashley came to TAH as a work experience student in 2009, and impressed us so much we offered her a full time job as a nurse assistant. Ashley is now a Veterinary Nurse and is currently studying her Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing.

Ashley has a gorgeous Shetland Sheepdog named James, 2 cats – Charlie and Squirt  and has recently acquired a lively Siberian Husky names Lucy.

 

 


Jennifer Barlow

Jennifer Barlow

Jen started at TAH in 2007, firstly as a receptionist and then as a consultation nurse. After moving to Launceston and later Sydney to further her education Jen is now back home at TAH as our Hospital Supervisor. Jen has experience in both specialist medical, surgical and critical care nursing and is hoping to complete her Diploma in Veterinary Nursing in the next year. What Jen enjoys most about veterinary nursing is being able to provide a high level of patient care through effective pain management, observation and ensuring a positive mental wellbeing for all her patients. Jen enjoys being able to work with animals every day and loves being challenged with new procedures and information.

Working with a positive team in a caring environment is something she values every day at TAH.

Jen enjoys spending time with husband Andrew and dog Banjo. Jen is also an enthusiastic collector of all things “miniature” including her hand made dolls house made for her by her husband.


Lauren Cameron

Certificate IV Animal Studies

Lauren CameronLauren has been with TAH since July 2009 and has been a Veterinary Nurse for 7 years. Lauren moved to Melbourne to further her career and worked in several clinics and an Emergency Centre where she discovered her love of wildlife. She joined A.W.A.R.E. where she was involved in the rescue and rehabilitation of wildlife.

Lauren took a break to travel around Australia and overseas and spent some time in India and Indonesia.

No pets of her own at the moment, but her family have lots of animals. Lauren loves to bond with clients and their pets so she doesn’t feel she is missing out. Lauren has recently completed her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. In her spare time Lauren enjoys sewing and Bikram Yoga.


 

Claire Gott

Certificate II Animal Studies

Claire GottClaire has been working with Tasmanian Animal Hospitals since 2004. After trying her hand at human nursing she returned to TAH last year to work at our Sorell Practice, where she holds the position of Hospital Supervisor. Caire has completed her Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing and is currently studying for her Certificate IV. Claire enjoys the practical “hands on” side of veterinary nursing.

Claire has a Labrador called Murray and a cat called Wally. Wally was hand reared from 42 grams and now is a very cheeky boy that enjoys sleeping all day under the blankets and plays all night.

In her spare time, Claire enjoys spending time with her friends and family (2 & 4 legged) as well as listening to live music and spending time outdoors.


Kylie Tucker

Certificate II Animal Studies

Kylie TuckerKylie has been with TAH for 18 months, and a Veterinary Nurse for 7 years, working at our Sorell Practice. Kylie has completed Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing and is currently studying for Certificate IV. She enjoys emergency medicine, exotic pets, and general nursing duties.
Hopefully the future holds a long career at TAH with a few breaks to travel the world and pick up a few tips on Veterinary care along the way.

Kylie has 2 dogs, a cat and a ferret, which occupies a lot of her time, their mischief keeps her out of her mischief.

 


Louise Gorenc

Louise Gorenc

Louise has been with TAH since August 2009 after 16 years experience in the Superannuation Industry.

Louise has completed her Certificate II in Animal Studies and is looking forward to further studies.

Louise particularly enjoys the Consulting nurse role, where she gets to meet all the animals owners and discuss their pets life-time health care. Louise regularly looks after reception on our busy Saturdays and enjoys the fast paced environment while ensuring there is plenty of time for pats with the pets.

Louise has recently moved into the country and enjoys time with her chooks, rabbits, dogs, mice and blue tongue lizard that frequents her vegetable garden.


Nia Whitney

Nia WhitneyNia joined TAH earlier this year as a Nurse Assistant, coming from a Dental Nursing background but had always wanted to work in the Veterinary Profession. Nia has commenced her Certificate II in Veterinary Nursing and her ambition is to work through to Diploma Qualifications.

Nia comes from a rural background and has a special interest in wildlife, as well as pocket pets. She is also interested in promoting animal dentistry.

In Nia’s free time she loves horse riding, travelling, reading and art as well as spoiling her cute indoor rabbit Rudy.

Claire Bannister

Claire has been a Veterinary Nurse at TAH for 5 years, completing her Certificate II in Veterinary nursing. Certificate IV went on hold last year when baby Sienna arrived. Claire works part time and will continue studying when Sienna is not such a handful.

Claire loves that she gets to work with animals and be a part of making a difference in their health and wellbeing. In her spare time Claire likes to walk her two Siberian Huskies, going to the movies and spending time with her daughter, partner, friends and family.
